Mieke Haveman, Workshop Tutor writes:
One thing I often hear is: "I have a website but it is not bringing in any clients". If this applies to yours I understand it puts you off and makes you think that having a website is overrated and maybe not for you.
A website is an online counsellor's best tool, their home base. But there are a few tricks to building a website that can bring in clients.
By the end of this workshop you will have seen the basics of what makes a good website.
- What the structure should look like
- How many pages
- What works on a home page
- What works on other pages
- A short introduction to keywords
- A short introduction to Wordpress
What is an online learning group?
Our groups work together online by communicating over the internet. We type our communications and send them to each other either by email or through Skype . It is our experience that members of a group such as this often choose to stay in contact after the Workshop has finished.
What equipment do I need?
You will need: A computer connected to the internet with Skype installed. Although I will be mentioning Wordpress websites during the course, for this workshop you do not need to have a Wordpress website.

Who is it for?
Counsellors and coaches who have not got a website yet. Or those who are not satisfied with the website they have at the moment and who would like to have a website they can maintain themselves, that means enter text and make adjustments without the help of a webmaster. This workshop will be focussing on the structure of your website [how many pages etc] and to write text for those pages.
What technology skills will I need?
It is helpful if you are a reasonably confident typist and familiar with your computer’s software, emails and internet chat rooms. As we will be focussing on the text of the website for this workshop you don’t need any technology skills.
When does it start?
The workshop is held in two sessions on a Saturday and Sunday morning. There is a timetable below.
